The year 10 Visual Communication programme within Avondale College begins from Year 10 through to Level three (Year 13) and is designed to challenge our students to develop their abilities through practical experiences and learning activities. DVC offers students the opportunity to develop life skills which include inquiry, visual literacy, critical thinking, problem solving, creativity, Initiative, Ingenuity, decision making and how to create good working relationships. The wide range of crucial Life Skills taught in DVC, will help students later in life regardless of their choice of profession.
Learning activities are based on realistic experiences to cover a wide range of drawing skills, modelling, testing, and evaluation in which students learn to identify and be innovative when resolving problems. These experiences will enable them to become confident and knowledgeable in their response to technological, environmental, global and social change. In this context, they are encouraged to develop values of objectivity, commitment, self-esteem, sensitivity, and consideration for others.
